Is a Circuit an electrical circuit?
No. It is a connected assembly of software capabilities. A Circuit defines how the output of one DataChip becomes the input of another and how the complete process is executed and verified.
A Circuit connects contracts, not wires.
A Circuit defines how the typed output of one software capability becomes the accepted input of another. Imagine a maintenance workflow: verify sensor readings, normalize units, run a qualified anomaly algorithm, classify uncertainty, and create an audit record. The CircuitRuntime executes those operations in sequence while handling failure and permitted access. A visual diagram alone is not evidence that the operations actually executed.
Why the whole assembly needs qualification
A component might be allowed for internal research but not redistribution; another may not be tested for safety-critical service. Combining them does not remove those limits. Input schemas, units, dependency versions, security conditions and evidence must be checked at the assembly level as well as the component level. The whitepaper documents a local typed WebAssembly sensor algorithm connected to a SHA-256 digest operation—not a claim of blanket qualification for every future Circuit.
The answer above preserves the original whitepaper text; this additional explanation is interpretive guidance, not a new claim of certification, legal authority or commercial launch.
