LEVEL 4 —YOUTH INNOVATORS

AGES 15–17

Level 4 supports independent, higher-level project development. Participants explore programming, 2D and 3D creation, advanced robotics, APIs, responsible AI concepts and software deployment while planning, testing and presenting real technology projects.

ASK ABOUT LEVEL 4 WORKSHOPS

Independent project design

Define real problems, requirements and achievable milestones.

Programming & 2D/3D development

Build software and original interactive creations with modern tools.

Advanced robotics

Combine sensors, controls and safe autonomous behaviours.

APIs & responsible AI

Explore connected software, reliability, privacy and ethical design.

Deployment & presentation

Test, document, package and demonstrate a completed project.

What participants do

FROM IDEAS TO REAL-WORLD IMPACT

Participants take ownership of a scoped project from the first idea through implementation, testing, documentation and a final showcase. Working with mentors, they choose a problem that matters, use appropriate development tools, manage revisions and demonstrate what their technology can and cannot do.

PROJECT OUTCOME

Build, test, document and present a complete technology project with a portfolio-quality demonstration.

HANDS-ON · REAL-WORLD · CREATIVE

EXAMPLE PROJECTS

Participants choose a project appropriate to their experience, interest and confidence.

WORKSHOP FORMAT8 workshop sessions · approximately 90–120 minutes each, plus optional independent practice

FOR PARENTSA mentor-supported path for older youth who want meaningful independence, technical responsibility and an introduction to professional standards. Participants can progress toward post-secondary programmes, trades, entrepreneurship or their own projects.

FROM THE FIRST IDEA TO A FINISHED CREATION

THE WORKSHOP PLAN

8 workshop sessions · approximately 90–120 minutes each, plus optional independent practice. Session outlines are proposed and may be tailored to the actual group and venue.

  1. 01Define a community or personal problem worth solving
  2. 02Set project scope, acceptance tests and ethical limits
  3. 03Create architecture, screens, circuits or asset plan
  4. 04Implement the first integrated prototype
  5. 05Add advanced logic, APIs or sensors as appropriate
  6. 06Test for usability, safety and reliability
  7. 07Document, package and rehearse the demonstration
  8. 08Present the project and reflect on future improvements

WHAT PARTICIPANTS WORK WITH

Development computer, modern game engine and code editor, optional 3D/CAD tools, approved robotics kit, a test device and version-controlled project storage where appropriate.

SAFE, SUPPORTED LEARNING

Require documented adult oversight for power tools, fabrication, electrical systems, networks and external APIs. No deployment using live personal data, unsupervised generative AI or public release without approval and safeguarding review.

BTG Builder — Design, test and commission

Youth Innovators can learn to plan parts, connection graphs, mechanism behaviour, programmable controls, faults and test evidence. The long-term goal is to commission and operate a complete engineering system in persistent BTG World; this end-to-end functionality remains under active development.
